’21st century. Design after Design’. The Triennale of the future in Milan

Twenty exhibitions, twelve different places and two Expo pavilions which will be reopened for the occasion. If you want to keep yourself busy and immersed in the world of design, go to Milan soon. 21st Century. Design After Design will be the title of the XXI Triennale of Milano International Exhibition, that will be held from 2 April to 12 September.

The exhibition had disappeared from the northern Italy capital for twenty years and it’s good news that now it’s back. The plate is very full: exhibitions, festivals, meetings, conferences and competitions. It will be possible to see in a different light places like the Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, the beautiful Fabbrica del Vapore, the Museum of Cultures, the Pirelli Headquarters and Villa Reale in Monza, among many other places that worth a visit.

Neo-Prehistory, New Craft, Women in Italian Design and City after City (this one held where Expo took place) will be some of the curated exhibitions.

The UK will be represented by the V&A Museum of Design Dundee. The museum will present Adventures in Design, a comic strip specially commissioned for the event and created by Will Morris and David MacKenzie. The V&A Museum of Design of Dundee, now under construction and designed by Kengo Kuma (who is working at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Stadium) will be opened in 2018 and it looks like it will be an amazing space that will change the Scottish town.
