DO’S
DO cover up
Look silly and stay protected! Wear the whitest cream protection, a stylish hat and wide sunglasses to minimize exposure to the sun.
DO think of your hair
Seaweed isn’t just for a sushi date! Protect your hair with a sea-mineral spray to prevent it from drying out.
DO eat at home
Have a gazpacho break with friends from 11 am–1 pm! That’s when the sun’s rays are most dangerous.
DO decode the SPF labels
There’s a lot written on a sunscreen bottle. Look for an SPF that says ‘broad spectrum protection’ which means it protects against the sun’s most damaging UVA and UVB rays. Go for a sweat-resistant SPF if you’re doing sports.
DO get those Fendi shades
Protect your eyes with good quality lenses or you’ll regret it later.
DONT’S
DON’T be stingy
You need about two palm-sized portions to protect your whole body. So don’t hold back and slop copious quantities over yourself
DON’T go for anything less than 30
30 is not your age but the SPF you need to buy. Anything lower doesn’t protect your skin, and a higher number won’t protect much more, and it still needs to be reapplied.
DON’T think of only your skin
Scoop another spoonful of berries, the antioxidants in fruits may help reduce skin damage. (You still need your SPF though).
DON’T forget to reapply after taking a dip
No sunscreen is actually waterproof, so make sure to reapply after a dip.
DON’T forget your SPF lipgloss!
The skin on your lips is extra fragile, so the more you reapply, the more that glossy layer is working to protect your lips from burning and peeling.
